Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum (above) that is just the best designed museum ever;
Grand Central Station - best place to start or end a rail trip (take a tour if you get time); and
Strand Books for their huge discounted range of photographic, architecture, design and art books. Shipping to the Europe is roughly $3 per book no matter what size and you can buy online if you do not happen to be passing...
